Day of procedure:

On the day of your KAMRA procedure plan on being at our practice for 1-2 hours for prep time, paperwork, meeting the surgeon and the procedure. You can eat a normal breakfast on the day of your procedure, but please avoid having any caffeine or alcohol four hours prior to your surgery. Make sure you do have transportation to and from your surgery.

Immediately after your procedure there can be some watering and itchiness for the KAMRA eye for up to 4 hours. A recommendation we give to all of our patients is to go home and take time to rest and relax this will help you get through the irritation that comes along with the procedure. Make sure you are staying compliant with the drops our surgeons have prescribed you until they are not needed anymore. You will be scheduled for a post-op visit with your surgeon within 24 hours of your surgery it will be a quick appointment to check the healing process, placement of the KAMRA inlay, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Keep in mind the KAMRA inlay healing process varies for each patient, but in general it can take up to 1-3 months for optimal results.
